PART 2.a - In Character Non-WH13/Eureka Canon Characters (Skip/delete if not applicable)
Full Name: Tanusha Kyrano
Nicknames: Kayo
DOB/Age: I don’t even know. Late teens / early 20s? (Watch me have to reneg this in a few months.)
Birthplace: England
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Not touched yet, but I’d say Heterosmexual.
Species:Hooman
Fandom: Thunderbirds are Go!
Journal: kayo-d
PB: Voice Actor is Angel Coulby
Holoprojection Human Interface PB: N/A
Canon Point: Post 1.13 (Heavy Metal)
Appearance: Kayo is medium height, female, with olive toned skin and green eyes. She has black hair that she normally keeps back in a ponytail, because, well, you can’t kick ass with your hair in your face, eh? When on missions, she wears the standard blue body armor / flight suit with a vest (with a bunch of tech goodies attached to it for her missions), belts and black boots. When she’s not in her flight suit, she’s seen wandering in green cargo pants and a blue t-shirt with a wristlet that has her communicator in it for talking to the Tracy bros.
History: ((Disclaimer, Thunderbirds are Go is a remake of a series from the 1960s. (I know Jen touched on this in her app, too, so it probably sounds familiar.) There are only 13 episodes so far, and there are a lot of things that they haven’t revealed to people yet. Ages is one. Pre-series history is another. I APOLOGIZE IF RENEGGING IS A THING LATER. A lot of things are very vague mcvague. And since I haven’t seen the original series, I’m mostly going off of conversations with other fans and TAG.))
Not a whole lot is known about Tanusha’s back-back story. She was born in England, but grew up on Tracy Island with the Tracy clan, and is pretty much their non-blood sister…who can kick their asses. It hasn’t been mentioned when she arrived at the island. Her father was in charge of security for International Rescue (the organization all of the Tracy bros work for), and she took over said job. Her parents seem to be out of the picture though, for unexplained reasons.
Her nickname is Kayo due to the amount of K.O.s she caused in martial arts. She’s also the trainer for the boys, teaching them how to fight… and she can still kick all their butts.
But, there is a family member still in the picture, even if she doesn’t want him around: The Hood. He’s her uncle, and he’s not a huge fan of International Rescue and is an international criminal. The brothers don’t know that she’s related to him, and she keeps that pretty close to her chest, the only people who know being Jeff Tracy (the currently missing patriarch) and Grandma Tracy. He wants the world in his pocket and a team of people to delegate it to. There are multiple times where he’s behind the problems leading to the dispatch of International Rescue, leading to Kayo having run ins with her uncle face to face.
The Hood is suspected to be behind the accident that Jeff Tracy was involved in, causing him to be currently MIA. There’s been no wreckage found, and no contact between Jeff and his sons. But, it’s not a known fact, because he hasn’t claimed any sort of responsibility…which is something he would probably do it he was behind it all.
When we find out that Kayo is related to the Hood, she’s in a standoff with him after he puts seismic destabilizers in the ocean. These cause earthquakes that cause multiple problems that International Rescue has to fix up, and Kayo goes after The Hood when they realize it was him. He wants her to join him, but she refuses, and he gets away before she can cause any major damage. (And no, he doesn’t get his demands over the destabilizers.)
She runs into him again when she’s on the Fireflash, a supersonic airliner. It’s hijacked by The Hood, and she’s one of the first to realize that it’s going the wrong direction (and one of the few who doesn’t get gassed from the oxygen masks). Since she’s the one on the plane, she goes to investigate the cockpit after she notices the ‘captain’ leaving, faking sleep so she can sneak out. She disables the masking device the Hood placed on the plane, making it so the Tracy brothers can track the plane, then starts trying to find out what, exactly, was going on.
When she’s in the belly of the plane, she discovers it’s The Hood who is behind everything, and ends up fighting him before he escapes, because the plane is going to crash due to damage from the proceeding fight. (Fuel tank puncture, problems with the landing gear, etc.) They find an abandoned air strip in a desert and, after a few mishaps, she is able to land the plane and get all of the passengers (even the annoying dude who hit on her at the start of the episode) off of the plane safely.
She is often seen assisting the brothers with other missions, sometimes being in space with Alan, although she considers this more babysitting than anything else. (But she still seems to have fun out there with the dork.)
Previous Game History, IF APPLICABLE: N/A
Personality: Kayo is the stealth queen of International Rescue. She’s quiet and watches things, keeping an eye on how things progress. She keeps her head in tough situations. When she’s not on her stealth missions, she trains the bros in physical and self defense, so she has enough patience to be a teacher. Even in transport to a mission she stays focused on what’s at hand instead of wasting the time playing games (like the zombie games Alan has installed in Thunderbird 3). When a mission involved saving lives, she’s very stubborn about getting everyone out successfully, which is especially seen in Fireflash. There’s a period where she’s not sure if she can land the plane correctly, and she gets worried, ready to say things to the brothers about the end of the line and etc. She’s incredibly dismayed that she may not be able to save the passengers on the plane, even though in the end she succeeds.
Even though she’s serious, she does have a fun side. I mean, you can’t run around with the younger of the brothers and not end up with one, right? She’s not a prankster, but she definitely enjoys a laugh.
She’s not open to many people when she first meets them, but that probably comes with the territory of being in International Rescue, and having to keep her family secret from the people she now considers her family.
Special facts/special abilities about your character: Kayo has many forms of acrobatic skills. On top of that, she’s an expert in a form of kung fu called Wing Chun (knocking out her sparring partners on accident caused her to get her nickname of Kayo…from K.O.). She always keeps a level head when in tough situations. (And I mean, she can KO Virgil. That’s a feat!)
What is arriving with your character? Since the camera can’t pull in her Thunderbird, I guess she’s just arriving with what she has on her suit. Her place vest houses a camera and holographic projector on the right side, and a portable jammer on the left. Her belt includes a harness and rappelling pack. Other than that, her brains, brawn, and probably snark.
PART 3 - Writing Samples
1. First Person Writing Sample:
Well, this thing looks like it fell out of a horribly misdated time machine or something. Although I’m sure Brains would love to tear it apart to see what’s inside. And this Farnsworth thing doesn’t seem to match whatever time period I’m in here. I don’t believe I’ve ended up in some American city in 2014. There’s no way time travel even exists! I mean, really, that’s just the thing of those movies that Gordon and Alan like to watch on their days off.
Anyway, to whoever is seeing this, name’s Kayo. If you know any gentlemen with the surname Tracy, please let me know. I’d really like to speak with them.
2. Third Person Writing Sample:
“The heck was that!” Kayo shouted, now that she could operate on her own facilities. Whatever goop they’d dumped on her had made it so that she couldn’t fight back. And she’d hated it. Grabbing one of the pillows on her bed in the Bed and Breakfast she’d been driven to, she threw it across the room at an empty area. Wouldn’t do to break anything on her first day… wherever she was.
She’d been told exactly where she was (Univille) and a story about what was going on (that she didn’t fully believe) and then been driven to this place who knows where, to sit, and wait. She didn’t do sitting and waiting well when strange things like this were involved.
She plopped down on the edge of the bed, pressing her hands against her forehead. The worst part was that she had been preparing for a security run around the island, and who knew what was happening to her Bird. She’d been preparing for launch, at least, and not flying around the island, leaving her bird unpiloted and possibly heading straight into the water. She could imagine the faces now.
Flopping backwards, she stared at the canopy above her bed for a moment, collecting her thoughts to straighten herself out before doing anything more. After a few minutes, she sat up, walking to the door. She figured she may as well scope things out before getting too serious about things. Know your base before striking out. She thought as she headed down the stairs.
It would do, for now.
3. First or Third person Sample:
(There’s a woman in the viewfinder of the Farnsworth, somewhat confused.)
Ah, excuse me. I’m new to this place, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a quick runover of what exactly is going on here. Not that I don’t trust the people from that strange building, but I’d prefer to hear it from people from the other side of the camera.
Oh, name’s Kayo. I’m in the third room on the right if you’d like to talk without using these…things.
